I am a people watcher. I like nothing better than a trip to London to peruse the galleries and sit in cafes to watch people. Everyone is so different and this fascinates me. Charcoal is a great way to quickly capture these nuances.
The majority of my art begins with play and this series is all about acrylic paint pouring. The outcome is always different. The challenge is to then turn these beautiful backgrounds into something unique.
New Zealand born I have now lived in the United Kingdom for twenty years. Predominantly self taught I take a great deal of inspiration from my family, friends and the environment around me. Using strong colour my forms are generally bold and contrasting.
Drawing and painting has always been that thing you do when you loose all sense of time, I have now been teaching classes for two years and get a real buzz when my students do the same.

If you have always wanted to draw and paint or perhaps you haven’t painted for a while and would like to give it another go. Join me and learn some basic tools to get started. We will look at drawing what you see, contrast, design and developing your own style. Group sessions are on a Tuesday or Thursday morning from 10am til 12.00pm, or one to one sessions are available. £15 Group numbers are limited.
